At the time i and two my friend (anggun and toni) had carried out the activity in Setapuk Besar Mangrove Forest, Singkawang. Now, this area become a tourism area in Singkawang. the visitor can enjoy beautiful nature, like sea, bird habitat, mangrove forest, food and sometimes they can follow the fisherman go to sea.
The mass in area have job as fisherman, they build this area based on method and knowledge of them. They plant mangrove based on their awareness because in Setapuk Besar has occured of coastal erosion along 500 m. They had planted the mangrove from two trees and now has reached 150.000 trees. The mangrove can protect the land and make new land in there. Now it's about 100 m the new land has formed.
This activity has been inisiated by Kang Deman Huri to build Balai Warga (for training center) and make a plan gertak for supporting tools in tourism area of Setapuk Besar Mangrove Forest.
We had done mapping about the places, activity, potential and problem in there. They have creatif ways to survive, like, how to plant mangrove trees, use local material to build a building, APPO Installation to muffle of waves, bird sound to indicate that time has changed, and until to harness fruit from api-api mangrove trees become syrup and various food.
The result of mapping will be made to infographics. So, the visitors and mass can know the potential area and love more their area.
